HARI RAYA ANGGARA PAHING MEDANGKUNGAN
Anggara Pahing Medangkungan is an auspicious day for cleansing the mind of all negative beliefs and negative thoughts. At this day the Balinese Hindus meditate and pray to Dewa Brahma for enlightment, inspiration and support to cleanse the mind.
Ceremonies of Anggara Pahing Medangkungan
The cleansing ceremony starts with metirtha gocara, a special ceremony which is performed with a canang offering, like a Canang Raka, and wangi-wangian, sweet smelling incense and flowers. The ceremony is performed at the family temple (sangga) and the wall temple (plankiran), which is located at the wall of the main room of the house, located kaja (in the direction of Mount Agung). In general this room will be the main bedroom of the house.

Anggara Pahing Medangkungan occurs every 210 days, at the day 'Anggara' (Tuesday) of Medangkungan, the 20th week of the Balinese Pawukon calendar system.
