THE YADNYA SESA CEREMONY
The Yadnya Sesa is a type of belonging to the category of ceremonies. This ceremony is performed every day and is intended to bring safety and well-being to the household and its family members. The ceremony is performed twice, once during the morning hours, the second time at dusk.

The offerings consist of minimal three sets segehan in the form of banten pekidih or canang jotan which are prepared during the morning hours while cooking the meals. Each segehan contains two small portions of the nasi and a little of the side dishes that are being cooked. |
These segehan offerings are presented with water, sweet scented flowers and incense to the Sang Tiga Bucari,

before the sanggah/pemerajan shrine of the house temple as an offering to Sang Bhuta Bucara.
- at the house itself as an offering to Sang Kala Bucari.
- at the treshold of the entrance gate of the house compound, as an offering to Sang Durgha Bucari.
Most households also place such a segehan offering at the cooking place in the kitchen and at the well/water tap, as well as at other buildings and shrines of the house compound.
At special days, among others , and , these offerings will be more elaborate.
With the offering of these segehan one asks the Sang Tiga Bucari not to disturb the household and its members, one prays for safety of the house compound and for the well being and happiness in life for the individual family members who live there. |
